Mature pines and aspens adorn these two city lots located in the historic Virginia City. The wooded property is frequented by a variety of wildlife, including turkeys, moose, and deer. Although the lots are situated within city limits, they offer a tranquil, secluded environment, distanced from the bustling town center. Nearby utilities, including water, sewer, electricity, and fiber optic connections, are readily available at the corner of the lot. A year-round creek meanders through the adjacent property, enhancing the area’s natural charm. The breathtaking views feature the Ruby Mountains to the west, providing a picturesque backdrop. Additionally, the region offers abundant recreational opportunities, including fishing, hunting, camping, hiking, boating, and skiing. Residents can also participate in numerous events that celebrate Virginia City’s rich history and cultural heritage. Local Area Virginia City is “where Montana’s history lives.” Located along Alder Gulch, it depicts the original Old West with largely restored buildings. With the discovery of gold in 1863, Virginia City was born. One mile down the road is Nevada City which offers more opportunities to experience the Old West with modern amenities. Approximately 500,000 visitors come through annually to see the best-preserved example of the many placer mining camps that once flourished.Ennis, Montana was named for William Ennis who settled the area that is now the townsite. Lewis and Clark crossed through the Madison Valley in 1805, but Ennis wasn’t shaped until the discovery of gold in 1863 in Alder Gulch. Ennis was incorporated in 1956. The primary source of the economy is cattle with rotating crops of hay and grains. Timber is also harvested from numerous acres of nearby forests. Gold mining is also making a comeback. Downtown Ennis has tackle shops and hunting equipment available for the outdoor enthusiast. The Madison River offers blue-ribbon trout fishing. Outdoor recreation can be found year-round!
